Advantages of Creating a subdomain:

  1. Having a subdomain will help you to make the brand.
  2. Having a Subdomain will also help you can choose your custom subdomain.
  3. Like other platforms, Subdomain on Medium is also free.
  4. You can update your portfolio or Resume. And you can share your cool kinds of stuff in one click with your client.
  5. Its give you a better experience, where you can access all your post on one click.

Disadvantages of Creating a subdomain:

There is one major disadvantage on the Subdomain: the authority of your sites on Search Engines. We all know that Medium is one reputed and high-authority site. And once you are publishing your article on Medium, there is a high chance that your article/content can rank on google first page.

But a subdomain will never have the same authority as a root domain. Your Subdomain will be fresh and new to Search Engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others.

And so it needs some time to make the authority of your Subdomain in Search Engine. You need to publish unique and informative content on your Subdomain regularly. And after some time, your articles on Medium Subdomain will also rank on Search Engine.

My Thoughts;

If you own a domain and want to drive organic traffic on your site, then Medium is important for you. But make sure, when you are publishing the content on Medium, Make sure the content is unique and informative.

I have seen many people who just copied the few lines of content from the website and pasted it to Subdomain likes Medium, WordPress, Quora, and Others.

In 2021, This trick will not work anymore.

If you like my content, kindly clap below and share it with your connection. Have a good day!
